About Seren Popi Jewellery

Seren Popi is all about making jewellery that you can treasure, that invokes memories and sparks passions. Behind the brand is me, Anna.

I have always loved creating art in many textures and formats. All through school my heart was set on a career in Art & Design. But a University interview for a Fine Arts degree scared 18 year old me so much that I decided not to enrol.

Although I settled on a career in Business, I have always needed a creative outlet. I have created with glass, paints, textiles and up until 10 years ago I designed furniture ranges for Ollie & Leila a Children's furniture brand set up as part of my family Furniture business.

It was receiving a thoughtful Birthday gift for a silver ring making Workshop that introduced me to Silversmithing and BOOM I was hooked!

How it started

My jewellery is inspired by my love for the outdoors, the glorious landscapes and the belonging I have for Wales. I spend a lot of time in the Mountains or beaches enjoying the different views and textures and I hope this comes across in my designs. (My logo is the wonderful Pen y Fan and Corn Du.)

The bubbles range came to me whilst swimming in the sea and watching my bubbles move through the water. I am working on a Mountain range that will do justice to some of the best silhouettes we have and the Seren range is a tribute to my darling dog Poppy who was the best hiking companion I could ask for and is sorely missed. Hence the name of the jewellery brand Seren Popi which is Welsh for "Poppy's star".

I am conscious that I want to protect our Environment as much as possible and am committed to running a Responsible business. I source 100% recycled Silver, gold and Copper. These metals can be recycled time and time again without affecting their integral properties. I also use all my offcuts and broken/ unwanted jewellery melting it down to create some of my designs. I plan to introduce an 'unwanted jewellery' donation scheme where you can get a discount off new pieces.

I have chosen completely recyclable packaging. The jewellery comes presented on luxe Poppy seed infused paper which can be planted to grow. all postal boxes are FSC certified and can be recycled or reused.

A Kindness Economy... Mary Portas explained “Effectively, it means that we need to think and be generous and kind in the way that we approach business so that we create an economy that puts people and the planet before profit....It’s still an economy because businesses need to make a profit to keep going, but it’s an economy with a heart and a conscience." This resonates with me and I love designing and making jewellery so much, it doesn't feel like work. So I wanted to ensure I gave back. 10% of the profit I make will be donated to Food Banks through the Trussel Trust.
